In Pamplona, the capital of Navarra, we recommend the Vía Verde del Ferrocarril Vasco Navarro, a bike route of about 80 kilometers that connects the city with Estella. During the route, you can enjoy green landscapes, charming towns, and historical remains such as bridges and train stations. You can also opt for the Navarra Wine Route, which runs through vineyards and wineries and offers a unique gastronomic experience.

In Tudela, located on the banks of the Ebro River, we propose the Canal de las Bardenas Route, a route of about 60 kilometers that combines the natural and cultural heritage of the area. How many years has it been since you returned to Pamplona?

Since I studied the career basically. In fact, I found myself with friends from the career that I had not seen for dozens of years.

There is no other smarter means of transport. The only thing that I am intelligent about is having chosen the bicycle because it is the most humane means of transport that exists, you can carry many things, it keeps you in shape and it is a passport. It has opened many doors for me. The fact of coming by bicycle has helped me and in front of people it has given me a lot of value. In addition, the bicycle is inexpensive. I keep myself in a very simple economic life and the bicycle is simplicity. It's maximum performance at minimum effort.

Is life a bike ride?

No. Life for me is more like a paradise. If there are days when things are not going well for us, it is because of us, not because the external elements are not good. We are the ones who make life hell. I usually say that if there is another paradise, perfect. The initiative and its welcome

“The furniture was deteriorating and the non-smoking customer experience was bad because it was difficult to keep the rooms without smells of tobacco in

less than 12 hours, no matter how much we ventilate. A great handicap, especially in the face of the family traveler, to whom many times we could not offer the excellent service and experience to which we aspire ”. According to Fran Comin, director of the Tudela hotel, these were the main reasons why the smoke-free chain initiative was born, which does not allow smoking in any of the interior areas of the Bed4U Hotels.

Despite initial doubts about the possible reaction of smoking customers, the reception of this project has been very good. Fran says that smokers are not bothered by their own smoke but by that of others. And this is reaffirmed by Jose María Lázaro, a regular customer of the Tudela hotel for 5 years and a smoker: "even if I smoke, I always ask for a non-smoking room because the smell of tobacco is not pleasant for me, much less sleep amidst the smells of smoke."

Ana Blanca García (non-smoker), also loyal to Bed4U Hotels since its inception, has found it to be an excellent idea. “Bars and restaurants have been smoke-free for years and it was about time that the initiative also reached accommodation. The director of the Bed4U Pamplona hotel, Laura Ruiz, will participate in the 'Employee Volunteer Program' of the NGO, training Nicaraguan adults in the area of tourism, during the month of September.

“What began as an adventure in a personal capacity, has ended in a collaboration between Bed4U Hotels and One, two… Tree! that aims to go much further than teaching classes ”, says Laura Ruiz. The hotel manager started this experience out of a personal concern. However, “as I progressed with the preparations for the trip, I realized the potential contribution that incorporating the hotel chain into the project would entail. According to One two… Tree !, tourism in Central America is continuously growing and represents 9% of the region's GDP, employing thousands of young people with little training. 4. Do you usually do mountain biking in the Bardenas? Why do you think it is an ideal place to practice this sport?

Not much, but it seems to me to be a totally different place with respect to the rest of the landscapes that we can find throughout the entire Ribera de Navarra. You have all kinds of routes and difficulties to practice.

5. How many years have you been practicing mountain biking? Why did you start?

I started 3 years ago. Many of my friends practiced mountain biking, I was more on the road. until the "bites" began with each other and in the end I decided to join them in the adventure.

6. What is your favorite MTB route in Navarra?

My favorite route is Murchante's Night and Bike

Planning and slower pace to do the Camino de Santiago with children

"The important thing is to find the right rhythm," explains Jose Luis. “We have divided the stages. We do 16 km a day and take days off to visit towns, cities and places. OF Above all, a lot of courage and strength to keep pedaling. Seeing all your training effort rewarded gives you the confidence to fight for your next goals.

B.4U. What are those goals you have in mind?

OF Boucles de la Mayenne and the Spanish Crono Championship.

B.4U. And what about the BTT? Why the change to "fine wheel"?

OF I competed in mountain biking from 10 to 18 years old, although not at a professional level. Although it is a discipline that motivated me a lot, there were no teams in which to compete professionally. No luck.

And since my dream had always been to dedicate myself "to the bike", I tried road cycling and here I am, enjoying my first victories together with my Caja Rural team.

Mountain biking in this natural desert is very fun, it has many ups and downs but short and "manageable", so it is not very hard and is attractive for non-professionals.
