THE "ROAD RUNNERS" OF SANTIAGO. FROM SOUTH AFRICA TO COMPOSTELA.
BED4U 31/05/2016With the bikes ahead, these South African pilgrims (55 years on average) arrived at Bed4U in Pamplona yesterday at 11:00 at night with the illusions charged by starting the Camino de Santiago. From Cape Town to our hotel? What? and above all why? “We are looking for a 'starting point' in which to receive our rented bikes at the Triana Hostel in Seville and prepare everything,” explains Peter. "The same Triana Back Papers workers suggested your hotel to us and confirmed our choice."
The "Roadrunners" of Santiago.
Take a look at this photo. Any resemblance to reality is not pure coincidence. And it is that two of them are ostrich farmers and have decided to place feathers of these birds in their hooves to achieve greater speed and reach their goal.
With this peculiar outfit, these "roadrunners" intend to reach Santiago de Compostela in 9 days, overcoming the stages of the Camino del Norte and enjoying the landscapes offered by its coasts.
On a personal basis, Peter tells us that his intention is to carry out this common project with an open mind to sensations and learning. "As they say, the Way is to make oneself (The way is doing me) and that is the ultimate goal we pursue."
A very "Friendly" hotel
We always like to ask tourists about their experience in our hotels. When talking to Peter about what he valued the most during his stay at Bed4U Pamplona, his response was quick: “The friendly services”. “Since I called the first time by phone to answer some questions, the impression was that of a very close attention and in English, which generated confidence in us. Besides offering us the possibility of a quadruple room, upon our late arrival (11:00 pm) we appreciated the good reception and the dinner service they gave us. "
