To the south of the Foral community lies the Ribera de Navarra, also known as the Ebro Valley. The warmest area of the region combines the semi-deserts of the Bardenas Reales with irrigated areas in a landscape of natural contrasts. Undoubtedly, this destination is one of the favorites for rural tourism in Navarra.
A TRIP TO NATURE
The Ribera is home to a variety of towns, each with its unexpected treasure: landscapes, memories of the past, traditions, popular festivals... It's time for you to learn more about its environment and gastronomy.

ENVIRONMENT
In the Navarrese Ribera, you can learn about different periods of ancient history: the Iron Age, the Roman era, and the Middle Ages. All the most emblematic monuments of its towns are a mixture of different types of art that you cannot miss. Later on, we will provide a guide with the most touristy and essential sites to visit.
The southern area of Navarra is very characteristic for its vast plains, and for the stark contrasts that occur there due to the semi-desert of the Bardenas Reales and all the vegetable gardens located along the banks of the Ebro.
BARDENAS REALES
A landscape that amazes all travelers who visit it. This natural park is a privileged space, with semi-desert areas where you can enjoy the scenery and also go hiking, outdoor activities, and guided tours. You can access this area by car, but only on the designated roads. You can also explore it on foot, by bicycle, by motorcycle, or for the more adventurous, by quad bike.
GASTRONOMY
Thanks to the presence of the Ebro and Aragón rivers, the lower area of Navarra has very fertile land for cultivating different foods. The most well-known ones are:
·Menestra de verduras (a mixture of different typical vegetables from the area)
·Alubias pochas (so named for their pale white color)
·Pimientos del piquillo (red peppers with a sweet taste)
·Espárragos (one of the gems of Navarrese gastronomy)
·Cogollos de Tudela (a type of lettuce that is a staple in summer salads)
Emblematic products of Navarra
All these foods can be enjoyed in any of the restaurants in the Ribera de Navarra.
To accompany all these foods, we recommend visiting the vineyards in the area. There are different wineries where you can taste excellent red, white, or rosé wines that are also recognized throughout the peninsula.
